GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN SNOW storm intercept on foot! December 1, 2020

Intercept of snow storm in Gatlinburg, TN and the Great Smoky Mountains with desperate attempt of on-foot penetration of blizzard conditions above 5500′ near Newfound Gap / Mt. Leconte areas. Nearly a foot of snow was reported at the summit of Mt. Leconte, TN with drifts multiple feet deep. Snow plows reported drifts over the height of the plot bucket with winds over 70 mph at the peak. Sadly, I had to provide “simulated” conditions at the summit since I failed to reach the 6500′ peak on foot. Never stop chasing
